On the occasion of New Year’s Day, in order to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Bangladesh and allow civilizations to progress together through mutual learning, SHICO vigorously explored the work of cross-cultural integration.

Recently, the Project Management Department of the Rajshahi Surface Water Treatment Plant in Bangladesh organized a special New Year event for employees from China, Bangladesh and their families in the local area, to better allow both parties to experience each other’s culture and welcome the New Year together.

The project department arranged a scene with a strong New Year atmosphere with Chinese characteristics, in which employees from China and Bangladesh gathered together. Bangladeshi employees and their families first sang local New Year songs to express their expectations and blessings for the New Year. The Bangladeshi family members also shared the unique colors of their festival and used Mehend (painting art) to paint exquisite patterns on the arms of the Chinese employees. These patterns were regarded as symbols of “joy, blessing, and good luck.” Everyone present felt the charm of cross-culture. These activities built a new bridge of cultural exchanges and set off the climax of the entire event.

This New Year event also arranged for members of the project team to distribute New Year gifts to all Bangladeshi employees and their families, which made the Bangladeshi employees deeply feel the holiday care of Chinese enterprises. The enthusiasm of Chinese and Bangladeshi employees in spreading Chinese and Bangladeshi culture has been fully mobilized through activities.

In the future, SHICO will deeply integrate local resources, promote local development according to local conditions, focus on traditional festivals, organize cross-cultural exchanges, and tell the Chinese story of people-to-people connections along the “Belt and Road”. SHICO will firmly implement the responsibility of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, and contribute to the construction of HCIG’s international image and global development.
