This project is an important component of the flood control system in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The flood storage volume of the project is approximately 1.851 billion m³, and the maximum flood diversion flow reaches 3,630 m³/s. The main construction contents of the project include: 26-hole sluice gate, upstream and downstream energy dissipation and anti-scouring facilities, flood control embankment, crest gate road bridge and hydraulic steel structures and M&E equipment engineering, etc.
