On April 14, during Bangladesh’s traditional New Year festival “Pohela Boishakh,” the streets of Rajshahi were alive with grand, citywide celebrations. The Rajshahi Surface Water Treatment Plant Project team actively took part in the local community’s New Year festivities, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and community integration, and further showcasing the positive image of Chinese enterprises.

At the event, the project team joined local residents in festive parades, traditional music and dance performances, displays of ethnic costumes, and tastings of local cuisine. This deep cultural engagement helped the team experience local traditions firsthand and strengthened their bonds with the community. Project representatives also shared New Year greetings with the community, expressing sincere friendship and best wishes to the people of Rajshahi.

Meanwhile, the project team’s carefully arranged booth attracted many local residents who stopped to learn more. Through brochures and multimedia presentations, visitors were introduced to the project’s overall planning, technical strengths, construction progress, and the positive impact it will have on the local water supply system once operational. The atmosphere at the event was warm and welcoming.

The Rajshahi Surface Water Treatment Plant is an important livelihood project in Bangladesh. Once completed, it will significantly improve local drinking water safety and benefit approximately one million residents. This New Year celebration not only deepened community understanding of the project but also helped create a favorable environment for follow-up work, such as resettlement along the planned pipeline routes.
