The project is located between the Greater and Lesser Caucasus Mountains, with 35 Bridges and 20 tunnels, and a bridge-to-tunnel ratio of 72.8%. It greatly alleviates the traffic pressure on the existing E60 Section, shortens the shipping time between the capital Tbilisi, Batumi and Poti, and is of great significance to the economic and social development of Georgia and the Asia-Europe region.

The project was awarded as a typical case of foreign investment and economic cooperation of Hunan construction industry in 2020.
