On September 5, SHICO and Sino-Hunan Capital Holding Co., Ltd., held the signing ceremony of the cooperation framework agreement in Auckland with the local energy farm project company of New Zealand for three photovoltaic projects in Wellsford, Opunake, and Marton, with a total capacity of 280MW and a total investment of approximately 414 million NZD. The achievement is made by SHICO’s collaborating with various sister units of HCIG to go global.
This signing is another major breakthrough for HCIG to expand the market of New Zealand, following the Barrokliff project in Auckland, the DHB affordable housing project, and the Roskill Mountain housing construction project. It marks HCIG’s official entry into the new energy market of New Zealand, which is of milestone significance for the subsequent development in New Zealand. It also lays a solid foundation for HCIG to achieve international business transformation and upgrading, and influence the surrounding markets of the South Pacific.
It is reported that the electricity demand in New Zealand will increase by about 18% to 78% in the next thirty years, and it’s expected to achieve 100% renewable energy power generation by 2035 and zero carbon emissions by 2050, which will make New Zealand the first developed country to achieve 100% clean energy.
