At 3 p.m. on July 27, local time in Senegal, Cai Dianwei, chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), led an inspection team to revisit the China-aided Competitive Wrestling Stadium project in Pikine of Dakar, Senegal, which was constructed by Hunan Construction Investment Group No.6 Engineering Co., Ltd., and held a charity donation ceremony.

The Competitive Wrestling Stadium in Senegal is the first modern wrestling stadium in Africa, providing a broader platform for wrestling athletes and enthusiasts. It witnesses the friendly relations between China and Senegal and has become a landmark building in Senegal.

The delegation sat together to watch Senegalese competitive wrestling and felt the charm of the traditional competitive wrestling culture. On the field, the eight wrestlers engaged in seven intense matches to determine the winner. After the game, Cai presented souvenirs to the players and posed for pictures with them.

The Senegalese sports ministry said the quality of the competitive wrestling stadium project was excellent. He thanked HCIG for helping to build this modern, multi-functional wrestling arena for the people of Senegal. Competitive wrestling is very popular in Senegal. In the five years since its delivery, the stadium has been in excellent operation and has hosted more than 300 wrestling events.

Cai congratulated Senegal on the good operation of the competitive wrestling stadium. He said the revisit was the HCIG's pursuit of the value of building classical architectures and casting century-old projects and a vivid practice of the HCIG's "Be a world-class respectable comprehensive service provider for modernization construction investment with happy employees".

Subsequently, a charity donation ceremony with the theme of "promoting China-Senegal friendship and caring for Dakar" was held in the venue. Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Sarr, Director of the Department of Infrastructure of the Senegalese Ministry of Sports, Amadou Diarra, Mayor of the Pikine region and other guests from the Senegal attended the donation event. At the charity donation ceremony, the delegation donated more than 100 sets of school supplies and football equipment to local students and representatives of the football team. The students who received the gifts were overjoyed and expressed their heartfelt gratitude.

Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Sarr, on behalf of the local government and schools, expressed sincere thanks to HCIG’s economic and trade delegation for their donations and said that they will continue to support HCIG’s project construction in Senegal.
