In order to seize the "Belt and Road" construction and development opportunities, further promote the economic and trade cooperation between Hunan and Senegal, and deepen the traditional friendship between Hunan and Africa, Cai Dianwei, Chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), led a delegation of HCIG to Senegal to carry out a three-day economic and trade research activity from July 26 to 29. On the morning of the 27th local time, Cai Dianwei and his delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Senegal and exchanged views with Ambassador Xiao Han and Counsellor Rong Weidong of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy on the deep cultivation of HCIG in the national market in Senegal.
Xiao welcomed Cai and his delegation and introduced Senegal’s political and economic situation as well as bilateral relations between China and Senegal. He highly praised HCIG’s outstanding construction capabilities and appreciated HCIG’s continuous efforts in expanding Senegal’s market since 2015. Xiao expressed gratitude to HCIG for constructing a first-class modern wrestling stadium in Senegal, acknowledging the HCIG’s outstanding performance and sense of responsibility in project construction. He said that in Senegal, wrestling is known as the "national essence" and is popular among the people. He emphasized that the wrestling stadium, after being completed and put into use, still serves as a landmark in Dakar even today. The project is a model of cooperation between China and Senegal and symbolizes the friendship between the two nations. He pointed out that the foundation for cooperation between the two sides is solid and hoped that HCIG will continue to deepen practical cooperation in various fields in Senegal.
Cai reported in details about the development of HCIG’s oversea business, which spans over 30 countries and regions worldwide, and it boasts rich experience in overseas project investment and construction. HCIG attaches great importance to the Senegalese market and has foraged a profound friendship with Senegal since it undertook the construction of the competitive wrestling stadium in 2016. He emphasized that in the future, HCIG will participate in more infrastructure and livelihood projects, actively expand economic and trade cooperation, and enhance cultural exchanges between the two countries to foster closer ties and more effective cooperation.
During the visit, HCIG and Chinese embassy in Senegal reached a consensus on cooperation. In the future, HCIG will continue to develop the Senegalese market, contributing to a bright future for Sino-Senegalese relations.
