On the morning of August 2, local time in Kenya, Cai Dianwei, chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), led a delegation to visit the Ministry of Water Resources of Kenya and held business talks with the delegation appointed by the Minister of Water Resources of Kenya.

At the meeting, Cai Dianwei first introduced the overall situation of HCIG and the current development status of HCIG in Kenya. He mentioned that HCIG has completed a series of roads and bridges, water supply and drainage, municipal and other projects in Kenya, as well as two ongoing projects of the Mombasa Municipal Road and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Industrial Incubation Park. He expressed gratitude to Kenya for supporting HCIG's development in Kenya. He said that the BOSTO Dam project in Bomet County, Kenya is the key project of China's "Belt and Road" Initiative, one of the most important livelihood projects in Kenya now, and also a project of key concern for both governments. He hoped that the Ministry of Water Resources of Kenya will give strong support and actively promote the commencement of project construction and other specific work. He also sincerely invited the Minister of Water Resources of Kenya to visit Hunan Province, and work together to create more cooperation opportunities and space, contributing to the economic and trade cooperation between Kenya and Hunan.

The appointed delegation welcomed Cai and his delegation, presented the progress of the BOSTO project in Kenya. The completion of the project would greatly improve drinking water and sanitation conditions in the area, improve local health and help increase the recognition and trust of local residents in the government, the delegation said. The BOSTO Dam project is one of the key projects to be promoted by the Ministry of Water Resources of Kenya this year. The appointed delegation expressed strong hopes that the two sides will develop closer ties, exchange information in a timely manner and jointly push forward the implementation of the project as soon as possible.
